Subic Bay Marine Exploratorium Inc.
a Philippine corporation, has owned and operated Ocean Adventure for the past 22 years.

Ocean Adventure is the first open-water marine theme park in Southeast Asia. We pride ourselves on being leaders in animal care and welfare. We are a team of environmentalists and conservationists who encourage others to take an active role in the protection of marine and wildlife. Apart from our advocacies, we are committed to providing the public with wholesome entertainment that is both enjoyable and educational.

PURPOSE

” To be an instrument of change in the way people think, see, and
feel about marine and wildlife and their environment. “

MISSION

” To Enlighten, Entertain, and Empower communities to care for
animals and to conserve and protect nature. “

Our CSR Runs Deep

We Walk the Talk

Ocean Adventure is home to several species of dolphins, all of whom are rescued animals. Some came from the drive fishery in Japan where they were literally hours away from being slaughtered. Others were rescued when they came ashore sick and injured in local Philippine waters and once rehabilitated were unlikely to survive if released.

Ocean Adventure opposes the killing of marine mammals anywhere. Nations such as Japan have permitted the harvesting of dolphins and whales, as a food source, for hundreds of years. Less than 1% of these animals are allowed to be taken alive each year, thus saving them from slaughter. That is why we chose to rescue animals from this industry.

Lucky, the Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, is fortunate to be in good condition. Discovered by local authorities at the Kalalake River, Lucky was promptly entrusted to the capable hands of the Olongapo City Agriculture Department, led by Sir Francis Ela Maniago. On February 6, 2023, Lucky was welcomed to Ocean Adventure Subic Bay, where he will receive the care and attention necessary for his well-being and rehabilitation.

Camayan Beach Resort and Hotel’s beach is a well-established sea turtle nesting area, and we take great care to ensure the health and safety of the nests and hatchlings. We release hundreds of hatchlings every year and that shows how clean our beach is.

Our beach is a natural nesting area for sea turtles. We care about these amazing creatures and their habitat, and we make sure that they are protected. We join cleanups, practice proper waste management, and eco-friendly activities to ensure our beaches are clean and safe for our sea turtles and other creatures.

Not only do we protect and conserve wild life, but their natural habitats as well.  In celebration of Arbor Day, the SBMEI family joined SBMA in replenishing the forest by planting trees and pledging to “live greener” each day.

We clean not just the land but also the ocean.  During the Dive Hero programs and on several other occasions we worked to save the reefs and sea creatures that live in it.
